Roy Scheider's car in the film is a silver 1973 Pontiac Ventura Sprint coupe : http://mclellansautomotive.com/photos/B6323.jpg It's the car that hits the back of the parked truck. The 'baddies' he's chasing are driving a 1973 Pontiac Grand Ville : http://www.cars-on-line.com/18992.html -- Last edit: 2006-01-12 08:15:38 |

What is this movie about? |
|
◊ 2007-03-26 16:23 |
Rogue NYPD unit whose collars are given a minimum 7 year jail sentence (hence the name) Turns out that Roy Schieder's informant is behind a loan shark shakedown which involves baddies impersonating cops, and kidnapping bosses of known NY area crime families. |

Ive replaced the pictures with better quality ones and aded the tones of missing vehicles we were missing, just a note, Antoine, or anybody, could you please remove the red Kadett and put its comments on the other Kadett page? it is the same car but just repainted in red very badly, ill add the thumbnails whenever i can. |
|
◊ 2007-11-01 10:36 |
Ill keep adding thumbnails for the rest of the cars later on. |

Just a note: it would be better if pictures had the right aspect ratio Quality is maybe better than old ones, but they are clearly too flat!Even for quality I have a doubt: the pic of red Kadett is much bigger than your pics. Was it an exception? Or were the other in quite low quality despite their size? -- Last edit: 2007-11-01 12:17:40 |

First the asspect ratio is ok and second the red Kadett pictute was the one added before by SWF i think, with bad quality as it was extracted after ripping it with movie maker which decreases the quality a lot form the first file, then Ralph added VHS captures which were obviously worse and i left the other ones posted by IRT_BMT_IND except some where i changed the angle because it was not visible, i think ive also left some of SFW's. -- Last edit: 2007-11-01 12:42:59 |

Carchase, the ratio is not OK. Pictures are too flat. |
|

Not for me, and really im not saying this to be against you i promise i see them perfectly in my screen as normal as another movie, really so i dont know... this morning i saw them in my uncle's wide screen monitor and they did seem flat but it was the same for other movies as well, so for me they are ok... |
|

I remember my own wide screen laptop which does not show pictures correctly... |
|

They are too flat. Not much, but a little, and it is clearly visible for me. If on your screen they appear normal AND that all other movies too, it may be that you do not see "minor" aspect ratio errors ![]() vehicle_136116-Dodge-B-Series-Tradesman-1971.html -> van is too wide vehicle_136135-Cadillac-Unknown.html -> wheels not round To be sure to see picture as they should be seen, the width divided by the height of your monitor (in centimeters) must equal the width divided by the height of your resolution (in pixels) that is selected in display settings (except if you have a monitor from outer space that do not have square pixels, as this logic is respected even widescreen laptops I think) -- Last edit: 2007-11-01 20:46:21 |

Really Antoine, other times i would have say you are right, like on the peacemaker which ok i didnt see it at first but then you were finally right but i promise they are not flat at all for me ![]() |
|

This is what i see, is it what you see?![]() |
|
◊ 2007-11-01 21:08 |
That's a flat Cadillac. |
|
◊ 2007-11-01 21:17 |
Well sorry but this time i cant see it, and besides i cant do anything so if you want to change it do it yourself |
|
◊ 2007-11-01 21:35 |
If I resize and recompress pictures there will be some quality loss. Do you still have the original ones? |
|
◊ 2007-11-01 21:43 |
Yes in the bin |
|
◊ 2007-11-01 21:46 |
On the other hand I do not have time to reupload them one by one after having fixed them (I could do it more easily on the current uploaded ones by getting from the FTP and putting them back) -- Last edit: 2007-11-01 21:47:47 |

I am not sure of the right ratio actually, it seems to have an usual one (like some other movies, I had that case with Maximum Overdrive for example). 1,66 seems to fit, what do you think Garco? (or anyone), but it may be 1,77 or even another value (completely non-standard then). e.g. for vehicle_136118-Fiat-124-Station-Wagon-1970.html with 1,66 : http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/2853/118hj2.jpg -- Last edit: 2007-11-01 22:28:18 |

I'm not sure. Mostly when I have deformed pictures I search a side view and messure the wheels... trial and error... voila! |
|
◊ 2007-11-01 23:24 |
Best for that is when the movie starts with "Universal" logo: a big round earth logo filling the screen ![]() |

Part of it was filmed on the Taconic Parkway not too far from my house. The weird thing is that they should have been in New Jersey since theywent on the George Washington Bridge, but unrealisticly they filmed that part slightly up north in New York. |
