If you like 50's, 60's american cars and chase scenes you should see this movie. A lot of its 2:45 time is spent on chases. Its a little silly but you can spend an afternoon trying to identify all the cars you see. Lots of traffic and street scenes.

And don't forget, lots of action! This is a car smash up movie like they don't make them anymore!

After the ultimate car crash movie of all times (the original GI60S) this must be my second fav car smash-up movie. Everything I love in cars gets smashed up in this one!

What's better is that they are "real" crashes with real results. Nothing blows up, nothing flips when it shouldn't. Many of the crashes are minor, but real. Probably my favorite movie of all time.

There was a 1962 gold Chrysler 300. Jerry Lewis ran over Spencer tracy's hat early on. Need a screenshot.

I love this movie as well! Definitely in my top 10. :)

EDIT: Uploaded new HD images from the Blu-ray. I originally uploaded the bulk of the background cars back in 2006, supplementing Wrenchhead's uploads of *** and **** cars. I tried to remain true to his original captures, unless a better angle was found. I also added a few additional vehicles that were missed.

Not only does the movie involve cars, but airplanes too! So for all you airplane ethusiasists out there-

Here is a nice comparison between standard quality and HD-

Thanks for putting all these up. Wonderful material, fantastic car movie.

There's a little glimpse of a fintail near the end of the film, when the guys are stuck on the fire escape.

Jack Benny's cameo is here except it's not a Maxwell. See the discussion on the 1931 Cadillac.

Also avoid adding writings, arrows, etc. on the pictures used as "main picture" (but these are good for explanations in comments)

Thank you for this wonderful page on the "Mad World" cars. Amazing. We have a podcast and facts page on the film concerning mostly the music score, but other fun fan things at http://www.scrabo.com/santarositaintro.htm

Does anyone know how to found the deleted scenes and the documentary of the DVD? I'm from Spain and the only bonus feature that only arrived here is the Trailer... ¬¬

To whomever set this page up, take a look at the Buick page with the two yellow cabs - there is some work for you.

Does anyone think that Chrysler may have had a hand in this movie, seeing as a good amount of 2 and 3 star vehicles in this are their product, i.e., the Darts, The Belvedere's, the Fury's, etc?

Anyone have any stories about how the got the cars for this? Were they bought, donated, loaned from the car companies?

Any of the cars modified for the stunt work?

Did any survive, where they sold on, crushed after filming? I'd love to know.

I remember that sequence. He lets out a really odd noise and makes a weird face as he does it. By the way apparently there are lots of different versions of this -- different run times, I mean. What currently available print is the longest? Anyone know?

Surprised there aren't any Edsels in this movie! Even the 1958 models were still semi-recent, just 5 years old at the time.
Not a single Packard either.
