But it wasn't from a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD was it? Antp said standard definition DVD captures aren't supposed to be expanded to fill the larger size limits, they should only be 720 pixels wide at the most.

So sixcyl gets away with breaking the rules again [:kiki]

Don't fire too fast :p It may be unintentional

It's alright for him to have his own way (unless it really was unintentional), but unfortunately for me because of the new feature that automatically restricts image memory size, I can't add some images without compressing them, which I don't like but at least the times I've done it recently it hasn't affected picture quality too much, so I decided not to complain because I thought it would create a bad atmosphere. When I did Rogue Trader yesterday, I thought it was OK to have to make the 4:3 captures a bit smaller but I still kept copies of full size captures in case this new feature gets reversed. But one image from Into the Wild I couldn't add at all because it was just too big, even when I ticked the "compress image" box. So I left it out.

On a positive note I think it's great that you've fixed it so Blu-Ray and HD images can be added as main images.

I followed the rules up to me, 498 pixel max for 4:3 and 720 max for 1.85 or 2.35 ... what's hell the problem :D
Well if something wrong with the rules, it's really unintentional [Image: doute2.gif]

Well in my referential, 885 > 720, so it does not fulfill the "720 max" rule :D

Well as I said previously, quality of 4:3 fullsize pictures isn't usually that good anyway.

Strange. That may happen with images having lots of details, an automatic system can't work really all the time :D In such case you can still post the image in comments so I upload it via FTP rather than the site, so it bypass the test. I already had to do that once myself (once out of many pics, so I thought it would not be a problem).

With Blu-Ray images, are there any file size limits? If they have to be compressed as well, that kind of spoils the whole point of Blu-Ray (to have higher definition than ordinary DVDs). But then I think JPEG compresses the images somewhat anyway, but you'll know more about this than I do (my knowledge of computers in general won't be anywhere near yours).

As said on the upload page and the forum, limits are the same for all pics: width x height x 0.25
So a bigger pic (HD) has a higher weight limit, giving still a good result.

Most of my images fall within that limit, but there's still a few that didn't. It's not my fault, it all depends on how much detail is in the image, when the limit used to be 80KB I had a bit more leeway and only the occaisional one was too big, so I would crop the edges a bit, but that doesn't really work under this new system. Sorry to whine :/

There shouldn't be so much of these; as I said you can still post these in comments and I'll put them on the server.
Or I could increase a little the limit but within at least several examples I am not gonna raise it just for the fun :p

I'm OK with that for now ;)

When I first read that (I admit I skim-read a lot of comments) I thought you meant "I'm not going to raise it, just for the fun of winding you up!" :D
