Well, the prayers of the producer of this movie:

A little bit of misunderstanding: "FF" is Frankfurt/Oder. Frankfurt/Main had "F" on the plates. :D

And very lovely, the idea, that SEK's ("Sondereinsatzkommando") the special forces of the police, are writing it on their cars.

And why should a taxi from Frankfurt have an advert-sticker of a fitness-gym in Berlin? But "McFit" is a company, which really exists.

You can see the US-sized plates (or at least the brackets) under the EU plates on the Police cars in the 5th and 6th thumbnail above

But I must admit, that the filmmakers took care, to come quite close to the reality. If you compare it with many other movie-scenes, set in Germany. Many of them are just grotesque.

So they have known the newer "BP" (Bundespolizei)-plates for the former BGS (Bundesgrenzschutz - border and railway-patrol) and the fact, that the modern German police-cars are basic silvermetallic. Not white any more, and the blue (former green) police-signs are just tape, not painted any more, because in Germany silvermetallic cars are much better to sell later on, than white cars.

But surely there is no CLS in use as a police-car. The people wouldn't really accept that.

P.S. Am I correct, that on the back of the CLS is written "Polizei 109"? A little mistake: the police-call is 110. :D

Perhaps the graphic designer thought that 110 was a fleet number (i.e. car number 110) and put a different number on each car.

P.S. I wonder which marque the Sprinters come from. Dodge stopped selling the Sprinter at the end of last year, and Mercedes now sell it in North America under their own name.

Like on the VW-taxi? There it would be correct - but as a yellow plastic-badge in the back window.

Thanks for those.

In the fifth clip, there's a BMW 3-series coupe with a two-line Swiss rear plate on the front. No-one ever gets Swiss number plates right. :)

And ingo will enjoy the cream Volvo with the Frankfurt/Oder (FF) official vehicle plate. :)

And to answer my own question, the Sprinters have Mercedes badges, although they could be fron aftermarket kits. Turning your Dodge or Freightliner Sprinter back into a "real" Mercedes seems to be popular amongst Sprinter owners in the US, and you can buy complete kits with all the badges and other parts required. For example see http://www.sprinterpartsdepot.com/

Late I suppose, but here are two more set photos of a Mercedes Sprinter and a Volvo 760 GLE:

Last but not least, the "new" A-Team van (which seems to have an all black paintjob instead of the old grey-black scheme):

@IRT_BMT_IND: yes. We don't have them here in regular use.

As I've heard from a guy, who knows Frankfurt/Main, there is no bus-line going to the "Kaiserstraße". Maybe someone of the film-team had known this street-name for annother reason: it's the whorehouse-street in Frankfurt. :D

True, but I think its still going to suck though. I've never seen a movie made off of a T.V. series that was any good.
Exhibit A: Knight Rider movie(s)
Exhibit B: Starsky & Hutch
Exhibit C: Dukes of Hazzard.
and im sure coming soon Exhibit D: The A-Team

It was a pretty good movie, that did nothing to shame the t.v. show. Kept fairly serious tone and did not go the silly, spoof direction that the Starsky and Hutch movie did. It stayed pretty close to the t.v. show , while updating it to current times.

jettalover US

2010-06-15 04:45

Following the t.v. show source while updating to the current times is what I had hoped the makers of the recent Knight Rider t.v. show would have done. Those knuckleheads changed the Knight Rider formula too much. Or maybe no one was interested in a Knight Rider remake.

Here is what i tought about this movie it was a fun movie with allot of fun action sequences and jokes and Liam Neeson was awsome as John Hannibal Smith and Murdock was aldso potrayed pretty well but Face and B.A. Barackus were not that true to the origenale series so if you ask me it was not near as horrible like all those Knight Rider movies but it cod still have bin better and i wish that the A-Team van had bin used way more because it was onley used in the opening of the movie before WARNING SPOILER !

It was was crushed by a wentilation system I guess it becasue it was to make the movie more realistic because it had bin pretty easy to spot that paticular van if you were on the run from the Police but every thing else in the movie was okay like when The A-Team members actuley kill people and super crappy cgi effects at the end of the movie so here is my meaning it is a pretty fun action movie but it is not that true to the origenale TV series but still way better then most other movies based on old TV series.

I replaced the pictures by HD captures, and added few missing ones. I use the extended cut version, so maybe that some of the vehicles were not visible in the original movie.

Well, they snubbed Mr. T so I'm not watching either version.

"After the premiere of the film Mr. T allegedly stated that he had become disillusioned and felt the story emphasized sex and violence, and that it was unfaithful to the original series. An attorney for Mr. T later stated that the actor had not yet seen the film and could not comment on it."
