After buying the Ronin DVD recently I realised exactly how much better the chases in it are than the ones in most other recent Hollywood films, take the chase in this film, it wasn't bad but there was so much editing (too many shots of Bourne changing gear and putting his foot down) and shakey camera movement instead of raw speed and stunt driving, the cars never seemed to be going faster than 50 mph, whereas the cars in Ronin did well over 100 mph in places. It's like a lot directors doing action films have been affected by Michael Bay syndrome, where everything is edited to within an inch of its life and shots never last longer than a single second. -- Last edit: 2007-01-25 12:05:04 |

I was quite disappointed for this chase of "Bourne Supremacy". As you said, way too much editing and camera movement ![]() I liked the chase in the first movie, and of course the chase in Ronin ![]() |

I find myself agreeing with you antp, on a regular basis. I really did not like the fast camera movement in this chase. I really had a hard time figuring out what was going on. The chase with the BMW driving the wrong way on the highway in Ronin is absolutely amazing. I think the Bourne Identity is much more of a solid film. We will have to wait and see for the third upcoming Ultimatum. |

I replaced/added pictures from the DVD. It seems that CarChasesFanatic & I are not the only ones to add a "no?" instead of "isn't it?" to transform a sentence into a question: ![]() |

I just have seen the movie on TV. I like it, that the locations were mainly correct without disgusting cobbled lookalike-locations. O.k., mainly without them. There was a tiny scene set in Amsterdam, when the CIA-girl was picked up, which was in Berlin (to identify by the houses in the background). And the supermarket-scene, set in Moscow, was also in Germany (to identify by the floor-tiles and the water-crates ) I'm wondering, if the chase-scene in the tunnel wasn't also filmed outside of Russia, probably in Germany, too. We don't have these Volga's on the market, but the other involved and smashed cars aren't typical for Russia. The range, the mix hadn't fit. VW Polo, Opel Corsa TR, Nissan Micra are not so common in Russia. -- Last edit: 2009-11-08 23:10:49 |

I remember reading in a book about the locations of various movies, that the chase was shot in Moscow and Berlin. |

The interior of the tunnel was filmed in Berlin. They also used Karl-Marx-Allee for some Moscow scenes - the FSB guy staggering out of the nightclub - note the yellow Berlin bus, and also I think a few bits of the car chase. |
