... added some cars I decided were not too background after all, because it happens they are genuine South Korean "vintage cars".

 They are kinda part of the set anyway, I guess? (i.e. not just random passing cars)

 And recreating the 1980s setting was difficult, because of South Korea's rapid economic growth:

 Police have identified a suspect in the serial murder case that this film is based on. He cannot be prosecuted because the statute of limitations has passed, but he is in prison for a "similar crime".
