Yes, it's definitely a British carriage. There are quite a few preserved railways here, so it's probably easier to film historic train scenes than in France.

there are some in France too...though I'm afraid quite less :/ ... by the way, it was certainly easier for UK production to film in England

According to the IMDB, it's a USA/UK/Spain/Canada co-production. Fifteen people are credited as producers of one kind or another. :)
