For the price of the DVD (3 €) the number of cars is quite high :D Though most of them are background or minor action.
I included lots of background cars, but they are well visible and also seen really a lot of time (it is quite obvious in the movie that they reuse all the time the same cars...)

Are there chases? Actually the movie is composed of two long chases, and not much more around them. First the Dodge Ram chases the black Lincoln Town Car. Then later they get a Chevrolet Blazer to replace the Lincoln and the chase can continue. Few crashes too (the two police Taurus + green Buick).

Funny scene:

Another one of my favorite chase movies. This one is definetly worth checking out for some car chase fanatics I know :D

For chases it is good, but the actor play is poor and the dialogues are really awful: they always say the same stupid things.

Three different Ford Tempo visible, and none of them damaged, Explorer4x4 may like the movie :D

Awful movie, but the stunt driving was impressive. This is one of my ultimate "guilty pleasure" movies, alongside Maximum Overdrive.

So it's like a porn film, except with car chases instead of sex.

i disagree, there arent almost car stunts in this movie, i bought it to rewatch it and it was a completely dissapointment, there was only a cool stunt which is the Electra one, appart from that one theres nothing valuable, the taurus one was supposed to be a roll over and it didnt even rolled, so no, stunt driving wasnt impressive at all, there was a crapy roll over with another taurus, but it was that, crap, just few backwards driving and slidings, but thats nothing, i dont recommend this movie, its pretty boring and it has a very bad script, and its me saying that, who can stand a half an hour car chase like Gone in Sixty Seconds 1974 ;)

A lot of Made-For-TV or Direct-To-Video action movies are crap. Since Hollywood hasn't gotten the hang of martial-arts action they rely on explosions, gunfire, high concept stunts and car chases, you need a lot of money to make a decent action film. A lot of TV movies were never destined for the cinema because they don't have the talent to be good enough to draw in audiences, although you occaisionally get a good TV movie with a top Hollywood actor, but Casper Van Dien's career peaked with Starship Troopers.

CarChasesFanatic ES

2006-12-07 23:07

Exactly that is, and this one its horrible :p , i think i even prefere the other road rage listed in imcdb too, it gots not bad chases, and two crashes i like a lot...and the plot is miles better.

The only film I can really think of that's been made a must-see solely because of the car chases is Ronin, if you took away the chases, it would be a pretty bland espionage thriller despite having a great cast, but the car chases are truly unmissable even if you're not a big car chase fan.

CarChasesFanatic ES

2006-12-07 23:18

Ronin has my favorite car chases, i think they are perfect, they are the number one of my list, the one i like the most is the 406 vs BMW M5 one, amazing chase, really love it. And i do like the movie too but yes, the car chases has an important role in this movie, if you look for information in internet about this movie there will always be a mention of the car chases, always, Frankenheimer did a really well work, although i dont like that much the way he filmed the wrong way, but appart from that minor personla detail they are my favorites :)

Anyway G-MANN, dont be that sure of that, if someone cant stabnd a car chase he/she surely wont stand Ronin chases, they are too long and without music, thats boring for most people ( not for me i love long chases without music, and someone knows it ;) )

If anything I think a lot of car chases in movies aren't long enough. A great car chase doesn't necessarily need music (like the one in Terminator), but the right music can help a lot. I think enjoyed car chases more when I was younger, but a lot of films I've seen in recent years have promised great car chases and haven't really delivered much, the Mini chase in The Bourne Identity wasn't that great, the one in The 51st State was pretty disappointing as was the Gone in 60 Seconds remake (it was a duff film anyway). But mostly I find a lot of car chases aren't long or adventurous enough, car chases seemed to be more excessive in the 70s and 80s.

I cant agree more, car chases have been declining a bit since that era, well the most recent year that had lots of good chases was 2003, with chases like Matrix  my second favorite after Ronin, ive got few chases from the seventies that cannot be compared to anything nowadays, an example? Le Casse, great chase, my third in my list...
other people can give their opinions... ;)

As much as I love the Ronin chase, I can't help but find it a bit overplayed now - I've seen it too many times and it seems to have lost its impact. Nevertheless, it is still the benchmark of the 90s chase scene. Gone In 60 Seconds (1974, naturally) will also be my top chase, the fact that it is so long but still sustains interest is a testament to Halickis' ability. The 1970s is by far my favourite era for chases, especially as it contains the more gritty, realistic scenes, such as Gone In 60 Seconds and my second favourite, The Seven-Ups. Long live the 70s.

Well anything gets stale if you watch it too much.

Yes, but I have also seen Gone In 60 Seconds multiple times and have yet to become bored of it. Not that I am saying that Ronin is a woeful chase by any means - it's easily one of the best, and the fact that it is from the late 90s reverts back to the greatness that was the 70s. I'm also not a fan of its wrong way sequence, as it feels too clearly coordinated and lacks the sheer panic of To Live And Die In L.A., for example.

CarChasesFanatic ES

Do you agree that the 2000 remake of Gone in 60 Seconds was pants and a blot on the careers of everyone involved? With Angelina this was definetely an post-Oscar trash film that a lot of Oscar-winning actresses seem to have, Halle Berry had Catwoman, Charlize Theron had Aeon Flux, Angelina had this (and five more years of other mediocre films).

Star Wars Fanatic EN

2006-12-08 00:17

Yes I do, the remake does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the original. Whilst the chase isn't bad, it is not exactly mind blowing and the woefully fake jump at the end is unforgiveable.

That's why it's called "stunt driving," not "stunt crashing." The precision driving scenes, such as the opening freeway chase with the Lincoln doing 180s and driving up curbs and several other scenes (such as when they're driving on opposites sides of the touring bus) are quite well done. Any idiot can crash a car.

Incredibly cheesy film with ridiculously bad dialogue. However, it manages to be watchable due to good stunt driving in the chase scenes and straight up curiosity about how it's going to end for the "heroes" and the bad guys. I don't think it's quite deserved of its IMDB score of 2.6/10 (461 votes).

oh god the time i had watching this film. hehe ok, i was on vacation where there was no internet access at the house, we had movies on VHS (that were watched repeatedly) there was nothing really good on to watch tv, and by nothing good i guess mean i didnt like what everybody else was watching. so i was snooping around and i found the movie by accident. at that time i think i tried remembering what i experienced before with the movie. anyways i started watching nonstop no breaks, i think. but nevertheless i saw it. that was many years ago and right now i have a pirated copy of it on my laptop. the movie is fine but ridiculous. its nice to enjoy it. i later talked about it on my youtube channel and my friend TheMovieVault saw it and wanted to review it. His Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmT9m0n4D8E pretty much. :D

Absolute dog crap movie. Saw it in a motel room once back in the late 2000s/early 2010s, spent a decade trying to find it. Finally found it today, super cheesy. Nostalgia hit different
