Ah, so all pics from there are stock footage? Really obvious, too authentic for an actual movie-prop (plus the fact, that it would be impossible to organize nowadays these wrecks in these original wreck-condition :o )

 b/w footage of 1955 + 1957 when SDR TV vistied 5 years old Charly Graf, they couldn´t have known
he later will be famous, 1973 he was allready a star when came back to baracks
Peepshow is 1974 material, showing him in world of pimps and prostitutes
the W115 the scooter etc. is there in 2011

 @ingo: My statement about Mannheim was actually meant to be a joke. I thought that everybody who has already been there at least once would realize that. I also know the locals are proud of their city, but I find it quite difficult to understand that. Of course, it's not as run-down as the Ruhr district, but still not my cup of tea... :whistle:
BTW, I grew up ca. 90km south-east from Mannheim, so don't be afraid. Besides- talking endlessly about off-topic things like filming locations by writing lengthy essays about them- isn't that actually rather your habit? Ach, nicht so wild. Ich arbeite in der Schadenabteilung einer Versicherung, Einzugsgebiet ganz D. Jeden Tag haben wir Anrufe solchen Kalibers. Wenn wir sie sammeln würden, könnten wir mit der Ausbeute von nur einer Woche jeden Samstagabend eine mindestens 45-minütige Comedy-Show zusammenstellen.
