I saw a Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W202) just before Alex called the Air Force, a 1982-1993 Chevrolet Camaro when Alex' mom went to the bank and a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina when Beaupre scanned the cabs at the taxi depot.

Oh right, also a Ford F-800 that blasts the blue Quest with snow. Does anyone have the movie?

Oh man, this is one of my all-time favorite movies. I should really upgrade these pics, I have the DVD in a 4-box set with Home Alone, Home Alone 2 and Home Alone 4.
In October of 2011, I even wrote a complete, unabridged novelization of it since I didn't like the one I had. I even described the cars:

In 2011, I wrote
...rushed to his Quest.

...scanned the taxis. They were mostly Chevrolets. He noticed a Ford Crown Victoria, a Chevrolet Lumina...There was the Caprice! It parked into an empty spot and the driver shut down the engine.

Found a picture of the Camaro: Link to "2.bp.blogspot.com" but I won't add it until I have the movie.

Oh right, today is Home Alone 3's 17th birthday!

The C-Class can be seen here: http://themoviedistrict.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/homealone309.jpg

Gamer DE

I wanted to do that! Anyway, I practically know this movie by heart, look out for a:

- 1993-2000 Mercedes C-Class
- Chevrolet Camaro
- riding mower
- Chevrolet Lumina taxi (when the taxicabs are being scanned)
-Ford F-800 snow clearing truck
-1995-97 Ford Crown Victoria
-...nother Chevrolet Caprice cab at the end of the movie.

And that red SUV that the guy gets out at the beginning of the movie is also missing.
The Tyco Mutator should be added as it plays a REALLY important role; it is the hiding place of the stolen chip and is mentioned in the plot frequently. Five stars.

The red SUV is the Ford Explorer already listed, the color is just hard to see. Didn't get a picture of the Mutator though..

As said, the Mutator is the toy car. You wait until it goes into the Alcotts' house, there's going to be a better view of it then.

I've seen the movie dozens of times and I NEVER noticed the Grand Marquis. To me it looks okay....but here's the deal: the Caprice is too far away. I'd rather go for the 1995+ Chevrolet Lumina, as these are highly uncommon as taxis and there is also a closer view of it when the gang is scanning the cabs.

Is the 4Runner listed?

If we list this /vehicle.php?id=607764 then why not the Mutator? It isn't modeled on anything but has a really important role...like Stuart's car from Stuart Little.

I disagree; this was the last good part before the series went downhill, although I have to admit I've never seen 4 and 5.

Gamer DE

The riding mower deserves a page, we have a few on the site:
/vehicle_36490-John-Deere-110-1964.html
/vehicle_657593-MTD.html
Two stars. It is also an MTD, and there are only 8 others of that make on the site.

And the Mutator, well...

In the guidelines, antp wrote Do not post pictures of model cars seen in a movie, except if they really have an important role.

And this one does, it's the hiding place of the stolen chip and the thieves are constantly after it. Now you can't say that's not important!

I remember I liked all three growing up (I actually thought the 2nd one was the weakest of the bunch back then), now I mainly like the first one - watching it annually around Christmas, of course :)

Gamer DE

2015-06-14 16:57

Out of the many times I've seen 3, I've only seen it once in German....Christmas Eve 2012, we ever spared watching Michel of Lönneberga that year...never again. In the German version, Alex has a horribly dubbed high-pitched voice that completely ruins his character. The year before, I had written a novel version of the film, as stated, because I didn't like the Todd Strasser (who also novelized 1 and 2) adaption I had.

Well, now that I've given reasons for listing, let's see what the admins will say.

chicomarx BE

2015-06-14 17:51

Riding mowers if they have a role. No toy cars, the Lexus example is a toy but also a model car, with a role. Anyway an exception, added in a moment of gay abandon.

Terra US

2015-06-14 17:53

The riding mower did have a role in the film.

2015-06-14 18:08

For riding mowers of course a role "used as vehicle", not simply as lawnmower.

Black Bart 2 US

2015-06-14 18:09

I doubt it, nowadays with all the hype and (sadly) hatred toward people who are gay. :/ Heck, some people don't know the word "gay" used to mean happy.

Never heard that before, why's it got to be so complicated? It's not like IMCDb is flooded with lawnmowers or will be.

Black Bart 2 US

2015-06-14 18:15

Maybe the lawnmower can be listed as a "farming vehicle," which this site has plenty of.

chicomarx BE

2015-06-14 18:21

It started with The Straight Story, and there are several now. But I think they should be seen as exceptions, if a character is just seen mowing the lawn it shouldn't automatically be added.

I remember one in the series True Detective for example, wasn't added.

What about the lawnmowers that are clearly shown and have minor in other movies like Maximum Overdrive.

night cub US

2015-06-14 18:30

The rule is for background lawn mowers, if it has a role it can be listed:
Do not post pictures of background (unrelated to the plot) golf carts or lawn mowers.

Black Bart 2 US

2015-06-14 18:41

Wouldn't you say for the one in Maximum Overdrive can be acceptable? It is unrelated to that movie, but it is supportive somewhat; which the wide range of many vehicles and appliances shown going homicidal and the lawnmower is one of them.

Gamer DE

2015-06-14 18:54

Terra US

Riding mower has been approved, the toy car is another story. The Taurus Wagon should be bumped up in rating too.

A) the question should be on that page and not on an unrelated page
B) Antp worked on that film himself and has it listed in the comments, so that is his decision.
C) this site is supposed to be about "cars" not lawnmowers. If they are listed in the comments that should be sufficient.
