German's do love their 'D' stickers for cars! |

When you see a modern car with this sticker, it's for very sure a rental car from EuropCar. They have all this D-sticker, despite the EU-wide regulations, that the letter on the blue stripe of the Euro-style-numberplates is sufficient. If you have an old-style-plate without the blue Euro-bar (in Germany up to December 2000, in other countries still available today) you still must have this country-sticker, when you are going abroad! But this rule is nearly forgotten nowadays. In fact noone takes care about that - but in some countries, for example Italy and Austria, the cops are looking for that sometimes and you have to pay a fine. |
